Lakeside Community Committee

It is with great sadness and respect that we announce the passing of Ms. Barbara Jones-Green, Founder and Executive Director of Lakeside Community Committee. Ms. Jones-Green founded Lakeside in 1964 as a full service child welfare agency serving Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Ms. Jones-Green's commitment to the children and families of Illinois and to the broader child welfare community was unparalleled. Her efforts to enhance awareness and increase resources were the fabric of her life and imbedded in the numerous civic activities she championed. Ms. Jones-Green has made a tremendous contribution to the child welfare community and leaves a lasting legacy in the many lives she helped to shape both personally and professionally.
